no he didn't mate. the only Beatles song Eric Clapton played on was the lead part of 'while my guitar gently weeps' and that was at the request of George Harrison.

What a cool thing to do. I love "I've got a feeling" and "Don't Let Me Down." Definitely two of my favorite Beatles' songs. Why does it look like John is playing the lead guitar in most of these songs though?

clapton and george harrison were very good friends. and yeah, he helped a hell lot on alot of their later studio albums for sure, especially george's stuff.

Not to take anything away from George or John, but if there was ever any doubt about who the studio lead guitarist was for the Beatles, listen to "Something" as played by EC on the "Concert for George" video...
