Dinah was a class act. While most people of her generation would turn their nose up at a hard rock band, she embraced and was just as fascinated by them as their fans. Can't you see her backstage rocking out to their album??? LOL

wah wah kids today kids yesterday blah blah blah. So the WWII generation lived thru a depression, and only pulled themselves out of it by fighting yet another war created under false pretenses designed to maximize corporate profits, because they were too gullible to see they were being had. Greatest Generation My Arse! Take off those rose colored nostalgia glasses.

here's how to do it: go to your favorite bands' myspace/facebook profiles and check out their top friends (or, if you have a lot of time on your hands, sift through their entire friends list looking for bands). if your fav bands are giving props to other bands on their profiles by placing them in their top friends, odds are good that you might like them too. sweet and simple.

...so stop being lazy and dig, my friend! i find new music (or old music that i've never heard before) that i love on a daily basis (again, thanks to the internet). with that, i find it exciting that major labels are dying off and we have a new paradigm in the works (again THANKS TO THE INTERNET!) that gives artists more control over what they are doing,

i would use spellcheck if youtube offered it! i swear! anyhow, IMO, music/art has always been 90% crap, the good news - technology has made it easier for everybody and their brother to create music/art and share it (eg, recording software, myspace, YOUTBE!). the bad news - now, more than ever, corporations are less willing to sign acts and let them develop. plus, with more people making music/art that is still 90% crap, you have to dig a little deeper to find music you'll like.

i thought "indie" meant independent, as in not on a major label. that's what i used to mean, and it had positive connotations - doing it yourself, not selling out, being inclusive. now, it's supposedly a "sound" (or a fashion statment) best eptiomized by trendy, pretentious, "exclusive" hipsters who can't bring themselves to acknowlege the truth - that music/art is subjective - because it threatens their identity.

There's been a massive movement toward old-school metal in the last two years or so. I'll have to say that it's the first time that I've let my guard down this far and gotten this excited about music since I was a kid (other than when I got into extreme prog rock about ten years ago). I'm keeping a list of these Dolls/Hanoi Rocks-based glam groups from back in the day and these glam revival groups from recent times, so I probbly will go through your faves to chck more of this stuff out.

Thats funny you mention glam metal revival groups because im a huge fan of that movement (check my favorites). CRASHDIET, Hardcore Superstar and the like are the only bands giving me decent new music to listen to and music that i can say im proud to have as part of this generation. But of course, they dont get any airplay or coverage in england.
