not tryna be racist or anything if that's what you thinkin. but this particular type of music, if you didn't know, was primarily played by african americans, especially stevies "texas style". plus i've never heard a white man who can play as good as that and with soul.
i just though he was black mr. sensitive.

They were booing because SRV was new to the music scene at the time and this was a JAZZ FESTIVAL in Montreux. Not a Texas-Blues show. Nobody knew who he was and his music/style wasn't very heard yet to most ears. David Bowie invited Stevie to play this show due to Stevie playing on David Bowies "Lets Dance" album and was Stevies "big break" into the music scene.
