WARNING: Jesse Morrell who is here on Youtube under the screen name of JesseMorrell ( http://youtube.com/user/JesseM... ) is a vigorous proponent of Pelagian's heresies. He has such an affinity for Pelagius and his heresies that he is on record for saying, "I think some people will be surprised when they see that Charles Finney is in Heaven but Augustine and John Calvin are in hell." He then provides an example of what the logical outcome of Pelagianism will lead a person to (self-righteousness): "Honestly, my heart is right before God." Here, we learn that the heart which is "deceitful above all things and desperately wicked" of which the Holy Spirit inspired Jeremiah to ask the rhetorical question, "Who can know it?" (Jer. 17:9) has apparently been figured out by Mr. Morrell as evidenced by his claim that he knows his heart is right before God. You can read these quotes here for yourself along with others he has made: http://youtube.com/comment_ser... Beware of the theology put forth by his Youtube channel. It is not Biblical. Pelagianism is a theological theory named after Pelagius (ca. 354 -- ca. 420/440). It is the belief that original sin did not taint human nature (which God called very good), and that mortal will is still capable of choosing good or evil without Divine aid. Thus, Adam's sin was "to set a bad example" for his progeny, but his actions did not have the other consequences imputed to Original Sin. Pelagianism views the role of Jesus as "setting a good example" for the rest of humanity (thus counteracting Adam's bad example). In short, humanity has full control, and thus full responsibility, for its own salvation in addition to full responsibility for every sin (the latter insisted upon by both proponents and opponents of Pelagianism). According to Pelagian doctrine, because humanity does not require God's grace for salvation (beyond the creation of will), Jesus' execution is devoid of the redemptive quality ascribed to it by orthodox Christian theology. - Wikipedia (pelagianism) Here's Augustine's Anti-Pelagian writings for free download: http://www.ccel.org/ccel/schaf... if we have no sin nature or bent towards it then why do we have to be told right from wrong as a child? and in romans why did paul write by one man sin entered into the world?

Thank god for Pelagius! Humans beings are by nature good. And there is no sin, no good or evil. We are INCAPABLE of sin.Indeed, we are our own saviors, because, we ARE GOD - for there is nothing else. This is in the NT in John 23. Jesus said, "Know ye not, ye are God!?" Look it up.

The Bible teaches that sin is sin. It doesn't matter if you lie on your tax return or kill your neighbor, both carry the death penalty under the law of God. And only the blood of Christ makes us righteous before a righteous and just God and saves us from that death penalty

Can you provide primary source material for either of your assertions? (bribe and sex)
OverRunWithSons (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
This is Pauline Christianity. The Church lost its way when they deemed Pelagius a Heretic. So Augustine won at the Council (a bribe no less)this doesn't = Truth. I feel it is a GRAVE insult to our maker to even suggest we can not choose between Good Evil, one of the biggest lies the Church teaches. Augustine also felt Married sex was sin! we think he was inspired!?

Lane have you sent this video to Jesse before? I would be curious as to the response you got. I have an on going correspondence with Jesse. He is pretty sound in most things but has so many problems interpreting Scripture due to his Pelagianism and Arminianism. Keep the good work up!

"Also, MORGAN Pelagius was Welsh." Pelagius is the subject of a poem by the Glasgow poet Edwin Morgan ('Cathures', Carcanet 2002) which imagines that Pelagius has returned to his native Glasgow ('Cathures') and that his Celtic name was 'Morgan'. lol

You don't even know what Pelagius said, or how to pronounce his name. I suspect you also don't know that he was initially judged not to be a heretic. The judgement was overruled after Augustine and his friends bribed the bishops with black stallions. Also, Morgan Pelagius was Welsh. Get your facts right!

One, but not all sinning is equal. A shoplifter and Charles Manson are criminals. God knows who's done the worst evil, and is Just. In that same verse, he mentions "sepulchres of the righteous" calls Abel "righteous" without being sarcastic. No sarcasm in 1Sam. 26:23: "LORD repay every man for his righteousness" nor Ez18:24: "when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity" Goodness sin are both ACTS. Does an imaginary, hypothetical righteous man pray in Jas.5:16?

"Once. What's your point?" How many times does a person need to sin to be a sinner? Also, name one person who has never sinned besides Christ. "Whom in the Bible does God call RIGHTEOUS, other than Christ? (hint: many people.)" Jesus called the Pharisees righteous. Do you hold that they were righteous or He was using sarcasm therefore there are different ways in which the word "righteous" is used in the Bible?
