yeah but again, only richard priors films translated here! The rest i have not heard of so i dont think were any influence to British comedians.

There's nothing wrong with that. And it's probably worth mentioning. It doesn't then follow that Carlin and Pryor are over-rated.
They were American comedians developing their acts for American audiences. It makes sense that people in a different culture wouldn't resonate as strongly.
It might be worth considering that the kind of stage presence referred to might be over the top or boorish to British audiences. I don't know.
