@juzu4me
Yes, the Ussr pulled tretiak because the americans got two goals past the best goalie in the world. It would be comparable to a college hockey team scoring on Martin Broduer or Ryan Miller. In addition, the Soviets outshot the Americans 16:39. The USSR simply panicked. The Americans saw the flaws in the Soviet style and took advantage of it. The idea of a fixed game is pure conspiracy theory.

And Canada's best players weren't playiing in this tournament. I do realize that neither was USA's best players playing but Canada's best always shuts down the USA. The Miracle in Ice is a farce on 2 counts

Well I mean I don't have any proof but I have heard several older people talk about it and they say that this game was fixed. Apparently they pulled their star goalie for no reason and appeared to purposely miss a lot of checks and shoot wide a lot. I do know that American officials bribed the IOC to get the Atlanta and Salt Lake City games, that is documented so the US has shown that they are dishonest when it comes to the Olympics. I did find some sites agreeing with me (google).

Wow. I would actually like to see proof of this since you seem so certain because I really doubt that the Soviets would take any sort of money from the Americans when cold war tensions were at their highest and hockey was THEE Soviet sport. Team USA simply outplayed them. They did it before in 1960. Why not again?

The Soviet Union definitely took a knee for this game. It'll come out eventually how Americans paid the Soviets big bucks to throw this game. Back then the Soviet players were broke, they had an apartment and a Lada. They got over 250 thousand U.S. to throw this game. And the U.S. made a movie about it!

this was the luckiest win of all time, all u americans know it u just dont know hockey that much so u dont realize how it was lucky, wuts even more pathetic is how usa had to make a movie about it cuz none of u yanks can seem to let it go, canadians dont brag about how many times theyve beat usa in the olympics or any country for that matter, u yanks need to let it go
MadeInCologne (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
