The version I was referring to is also Thomas Dolby, however, this version has a bunch of difference from the version I'm fond of. There are a few other songs like that, namely "Blinded by the Light" by Manfred Mann, off the top of my head. I did live through the 80's, and this is the original version of the song. I don't know what remake you have listened to, but Thomas Dolby first penned and performed this song. This is the original music video that was played, back in the day when MTV played music. ;)
