Mickey, do you have any suggestions on how to hold the thumb pick when picking? You don't seem to be twisting your hand in order to strike the string. Are you hitting the string with the thumb pick at an angle?

I love and use a similar rhythm in guitar stylings when i play. thanks for slowing it down and playing with the tempo switch in your mind for us. videos like this are why people have "a-ha" moments in music.-TroyToday!

could you do this on guitar? i dont use finger pics i have very long strong finger nails.... i dont play lap steel, but i play some slide guitar on my acoustic... and i've been working on some of my own created styles of cross picking and such...this is kinda helpful though, thanks!

Man if I don't slit my wrists, after watching this video, it'll only be too soon. Your making so much sense, it scares me, and I heard about that cross picking at an old Jeff Newman seminar, but I've never pursued it enough. Thanks for the great "hands on" demonstration. Marc Trainor. |
