I agree with you musically. What I meant was that Ferry does a kind of dramatic monologue that shows he understands the song though he doesn't sing it well. it's like watching an acting performance.

Sorry Susan but Bryan Ferry's version is awful, Starts off okay, then he gets into places his voice can't go. His problem is thst he performs songs he likes rather than songs he can actually sing.

There are sadly few people who can sing this song with justice. This is an excellent rendition. It is a song that is nothing without emotion. The singer either understands the song or he does not. Clearly Mr. Kirwan understands the song. Is there a cd available? Wonderful job.

That's really great. Real music. It hurts me how this song is butchered by all these "great" singers like Mrs. Church and others. But Jim McCann is unbeatable imo. Greetings from Germany |
