i am doing a school project on haiti, and i was watching this video and feel so bad. i want to find a way to help. i think everyone deserves an equeal chance in life:)

The problems of Haiti are so complex. It is difficult. I started an organization with friends to start a model in Cap-Haitien. We hope to find a systematic and long-term approach. Google "New Face Foundation" if you want to hear more and contribute

Poultry and eggs were being imported from places much farther away by a protected monopoly, adding 20-25% to the price ordinary Haitian consumers pay. Small Haitian egg traders lost their livehood or had to sneak the products into the country. Healthy trade between neighbors suffer. Does the Haitian government cared? Nah.

Not only Haiti has to import a lot of food, but people have to PAY A LOT MORE due to greedy, corrupted officials. Take for example poultry and egg products imported from the neighboring Dominican Republic. Just ONE case of suspected avian flu, and the Haitian government banned imports from there. The DR was DECLARED free from any risk by health experts, and the ban continued. Want to know why? Somebody was already running a huge monopoly profit importing eggs and poultry products into Haiti.

Excuse me, but WASN'T THIS the reality of many families in the SOUTHERN United States not too many generations ago? I guess these Bible-waving, God-fearing Southerners were not thinking straight while having sex, were they?

"these two pregnant women, were both found collapsed on the street..." yeah, this seems to be a common thread running through all impoverished countries. to many mouths to feed. hey!!! there is no requirement as a human being that says you have to have 6, 7, 8, or more kids that you cannot support. whats wrong with only having one? dont be selfish and bring kids into a living hell, simply because its gods will to give you children everytime you have sex. stop reproducing and youll be fine!!!

john mcgta I do pray and I never looked at Haiti that way before but you should know God gave us commend since if Haiti is that bad and they have time to think about having sex it's hard to feel sorry for them anymore I look at it now like it's ashame and we all know what we are doing I know we are all sinners but don't keep making the same mistakes over and over and over again then get on tv with the same story we need this and that when they had it was they grateful did you prey then

You should know there are many dedicated Christian's in Haiti. What have you done to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with your Haitian brothers and sisters? How have you shared out of your abundance? Have you even prayed for them. I am troubled that you equate their current strife with their personal Sin and see it as Gods active wrath (very Falwell-esq), and seem to think that in our success we are good. You should look into passive wrath. Pain and suffering is a sign of the Christian also. |
