More notes are available by "bending". also, it takes practice to play just one note at a time. Keep trying.

MOST music store guys know NOTHING about harmonicas. I use my "B" harp. . .maybe once/twice a year. B harp plays second position over F#, third position over C#. Not common blues keys. You can learn anything on any harp with Tablature. The licks that I teach will all work (3B, 3D, 4B, 4D)but they'll be in a different key. You'll need more harps eventually, anyway. Get a C harp too, next time you're shopping.

I bought a B harmonica from Hohner, but i think the salesman didn't know where he was talking about. Is this the right harmonica to get started with?

i got one like that too, nice harm.

sure. it's fine. any key is fine. The advantage of the key of C is that more instructional material is available in that key.
