Please people, don't make your arguments on whose better based on this song. This song is REALLY fuckin' easy compared to some of their other songs (Under a Glass Moon anybody?).

vai fuckin sucks compared to petrucci he cant play shit all he does is legato he can't pick if his life depended on it maybe he'll have a shred line for like a bar. his sweeping sucks dick petrucci can write with a band and solo material even does acapella stuff. vai' all show Petrucci writes way crazier and technical shit he doesn't stay in the safe blues zone either like vai. as for the crazy time signatures he writes in

When I feel like listening to *crazy* music, I listen to Vai. When I feel like listening to (relatively) straightforward shredding, I listen to Petrucci. Vai is more technical and knows WAAAY more music theory than Petrucci. But I still like them both.

I diagree. Petrucci is a straight shred guitar player, but Vai takes on a new genre of his own. He gets his quirkyness from his days in Frank Zappa's band.
