Yep, it would play the same. And there are Guitar Hero games made by one person (not the Graphics but all the charts). But these facts aren't arguments against a game. If someone likes the type of competitive and cooperative play Guitar Hero offers, it's worth buying. If you don't personally like the gameplay, you don't buy it. And many people just happened to like that kind of gameplay and have enough money to buy it.

I'm not arguing these points, It's obviously a very skill based game. I just think it would probably look and play exactly the same on a sega Genesis and could have been knocked together by a programming team of one.
btw, pacman didn't have buttons when it came out.

If you're told what you have to do (which buttons you have to press) the game becomes very based on skill. This makes it very suitable for competitive play. And the periphals are just there so it's more comfortable to play.
