i am a huge hendrix fan myself ..though i cant remember when i did hear this on the radio it was a while ago but i can recall i heard it was the isle of white concert that elton john "sampled the crowd footage" when jimi was coming on stage and in between his songs. suppose elton liked jimi`s stuff and decided to use it then again who doesnt like jimi hendrix

just a little known fact ...all the cheering and audience clapping at the start and throughout etc was a recording of a jimi hendrix concert that elton sampled into this song
